Shaynna Blaze is an award-winning Interior Designer, Author, Creative Director, Producer, and TV personality, best known for her role on The Block and Selling Houses Australia. Her unerring eye for style, has seen her establish her Interior Design business Blank Canvas Interiors. Shaynna has created stunning interiors in residential homes and commercial spaces for more than thirty years.
In 2008, Shaynna launched her design career with a role as Interior Designer and Co-Presenter on the Lifestyle Channel’s award-winning local production, Selling Houses Australia. Shaynna has grown to become one of Australia’s best-loved media personalities and in 2013 and 2014, won the ASTRA award for ‘Favourite Female Personality’ . In 2021, after a successful 13 seasons, Shaynna decided not to continue with the show due to scheduling commitments and will focus on some exciting personal projects.
In 2012, Shaynna joined the team of design experts as a Judge on the Nine Network’s award-winning reality show The Block. Starring alongside judges Neale Whitaker, Darren Palmer and host Scott Cam, Shaynna lends her creative expertise and invaluable advice to the teams of Blockheads. In 2021, Shaynna and the team return to our screens for series 17 of the smash hit reality show!
Shaynna is also known for her television roles on ‘Shaynna’s World of Design’, ‘Deadline Design’ and ‘Buying Blind’.
As well as sharing her design advice on-screen, Shaynna also lends her expertise to the design of countless beautiful products for the home. Her unerring eye for style has seen her design beautiful products for brands including Molmic, Urban Road, One World Lighting and an incredibly successful homewares range for Harris Scarfe.
Shaynna has authored two books on interior design, Design Your Home and Design with Colour and Style.
As Shaynna’s profile has grown, so too has her visibility across a number of other media platforms. Shaynna’s expertise is highly sought-after in areas including design, colour and trends – which has seen her writing columns in the Herald Sun and monthly online Q&As for The Lifestyle Channel, as well as featuring as a regular contributor for Grand Designs Magazine. Shaynna is a regular columnist for Stellar Magazine, Australia’s most read magazine and Property Weekly in Melbourne, a premium real estate and lifestyle magazine.
In December 2014, Shaynna was invited to perform at Vision Australia Carols by Candlelight. Having spent her earlier years performing at jazz clubs.
Shaynna was the overall winner of Celebrity Apprentice Australia 2021 which aired on the Nine Network. Shaynna raised a record amount of money for her charity Voice of Change.
Shaynna is a passionate advocate for women, and a social justice campaigner who has leant her voice to a number of organisations tackling domestic violence in Australia including Kids Under Cover and Safe Steps. Shaynna as founded her own start-up not-for-profit charity “Voice of Change Australia’ using the arts to unite domestic violence bodies on a single platform to invoke change with one cohesive voice. Shaynna has MCd candlelight vigils for women and children lost to family violence and presented keynotes at International Women’s Day events. And, she is the executive producer of The Fort, a feature film written and co-directed by her children Carly and Jess about one woman’s battle to escape her abusive marriage while attempting to shelter her son from the realities of domestic violence.
When Shaynna is not filming or working on commissioned designs through her interior design company, she likes to use her time to inspire others. Shaynna is available as a guest speaker or host at both private and corporate functions, where she focuses both on design and our social environment and how it effects how we live and communicate.
