After being overlooked in the 2019 AFL Draft, Nick had to take a rather unconventional path to being selected by the Crows in the 2021 SSP Period.

A developing key position player, Nick was in the same position as many of the other aspiring Victorian players in 2020 whereby due to the COVID restrictions he was faced with a season without footy. Originally signing with Williamstown in the VFL, Nick acted quickly and moved North of the Victorian border where he was able to get some footy in the Riverina League for Ganmain Grong Grong Matong.

This quick move paid off as he caught the eye of Adelaide recruiters and was invited to train with the team in the 2021 pre-season. Working tirelessly throughout the pre-season, Nick was awarded a contract with the club for the 2021 Season where he featured in 10 games and was rewarded with a 2 year contract extension. In 2023, Nick became one of Adelaide's best defenders. He enjoyed a breakout campaign, which included averaging 7.3 spoils per game. But his run of form in 2023 came to an unfortunate end, after rupturing his ACL in Round 19. Nick is motivated to recover from his injury and return to his best in 2024.
