Drafted in the first round of the Draft in 2006 by the Sydney Swans, from the Geelong Falcons Football Club, Daniel unfortunately had an injury interrupted time during his career forcing him into early retirement.

Whilst he wasn’t able to play, Daniel still had a strong passion for the game which resulted in him turning to coaching. This started by taking up a Senior Coaching role in the Geelong Football League, before taking the reins at Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup which is the premiere Under 18 competition in Victoria. During his time at the Falcons they had an amazing win/loss record which included a Premiership in 2017.

Since departing the Falcons, Daniel took up a Development Coach role with Carlton before later being announced as the Senior Coach of the Carlton VFL Team.
