Throughout his AFL career which spanned over 14 seasons, Daniel was regarded as one of the most hard working and professional players in the league. Renowned for his ability to run all day, Daniel played 249 games for the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne. Finishing with a Best & Fairest in 2008, along with finishing Runner Up on three occasions.

Dedicated to his studies throughout his career and a passion for high performance, Daniel completed his degree in Exercise Science at ACU in 2010. This allowed him to transition straight into a Rehabilitation Manager role at Melbourne FC immediately following his playing days, as well as co-creating the David Neitz Academy which educated first and second years of the standards that are required to make it at a professional level.

Daniel held this role for five years, before a restructure of the department took place due to the impact of COVID. However after taking a year out of the game working for the Joss Group in the Injury Management Department, Daniel joined North Melbourne in a newly formed Rehabilitation Coach role ahead of the 2022 season.
