Former AFL legend and Captain of the Western Bulldogs, Brad Johnson was considered to be one of the best forwards in the game.
Recruited from the Western Jets, Brad Johnson debuted for Footscray in 1994, five days after his 18th birthday. With a career spanning 17-seasons and 364-games, Johnson cemented himself as one of the game's genuine champions.
His early playing days as a midfielder coincided with a period of sustained Bulldogs success. Johnson was blessed with speed which when combined with his strong work ethic and ruthless determination to win the ball, allowed him to become one of the elite players of his era.
Brad captained his beloved Dogs from 2006 until his retirement in 2010. He took out the club's best and fairest honours in 1999, 2002 and 2006. Brad was also a Victorian state-of-origin representative and played International Rules for Australia against Ireland and has been named an All Australian on six occasions.
Brad was inducted into the Western Bulldogs Hall of Fame in 2014 and sits on the interchange bench in the official Footscray-Western Bulldogs Team of the Century.
Since 2012 Johnson has cemented himself as a much loved media personality with Fox Footy through his key role calling and providing special comments for AFL games, as well as his role on Saturday Stretch where he provides the best wrap of the day in footy. Brad can also be heard talking all things footy on RSN and K-Rock radio.
More recently, Brad and his wife Donna founded Zena Sport; a world leading protective performance garment for females. With very little data available on the risks of breast injury in contact sport, Brad and Donna began a research study of their own which showed there was a large number of female participants who had received some form of breast or rib injury, yet it went unreported. Together, they decided there was a need for a protective garment in the market hence Zena Sport was born.
